AWS reseller and consulting work is organised through the AWS Partner Network, which ranks Services Partners as Select, Advanced, or Premier Tier and layers domain Competencies (Migration, Data and Analytics, Machine Learning, DevOps, Security) on top. Premier Tier is the highest designation and requires a documented base of AWS-certified staff and audited customer references. This directory tracks 86 firms that hold Advanced or Premier status and actively deliver enterprise migration, modernisation, and managed services. Listings show partner tier focus, vertical depth, and verified buyer ratings. A practical buying signal is access to AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) funding, through which AWS co-invests in qualifying migrations. No firm pays for placement on this directory.
The first decision is engagement shape. Global system integrators (Accenture, Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, HCLTech, DXC) are built for multi-thousand-server data-centre exits, SAP-on-AWS programmes, and operating-model change across regions. Cloud-native specialists (Caylent, Mission Cloud, Slalom) tend to deliver faster on greenfield build, container platforms, and generative-AI work on Amazon Bedrock, often at lower day rates. Managed-service providers such as Rackspace exist to run the estate after go-live. Most large enterprises split the work: a strategy and migration lead distinct from a day-two managed partner.
Partner tier alone is a weak proxy for fit. Premier Tier confirms scale and a minimum certified-headcount, but a firm with the AWS Migration Competency and three reference migrations in your industry is more relevant than a larger firm without them. Validate the named team, not the logo. Compare adjacent capabilities through AWS Bedrock services, AWS EKS (Kubernetes) services, AWS Lambda and serverless services, AWS SageMaker services, and AWS security services. For the underlying platform itself, see the cloud infrastructure category.
Cost is the recurring failure point. MAP funding offsets assessment and migration effort but not the ongoing run-rate, and undisciplined lift-and-shift routinely lands 30-40 percent above forecast until right-sizing and committed-use discounts are applied. Insist that a partner pairs migration with a FinOps practice from day one; see cloud FinOps services and cloud migration. Buyers weighing AWS against the alternative should read AWS vs Azure, best cloud for enterprise, and best cloud infrastructure for financial services. For Microsoft estates, compare Azure consulting partners.
